This category of Construction Plant Competence Scheme (CPCS) training is designed for those who are appointed with the day-to-day responsibility for planning lifting operations – hence the title, “Appointed Person” lifting course. The course aims to instruct delegates how to safely plan a lifting operation to ensure compliance with the law and secure the health and safety of all employees and of those who may be affected by their actions.
Foundation and Experienced Worker variants of the course are available to cater for all levels of experience. Delegates must have 2 years minimum experience in the role before they are eligible for an Experienced Worker course. A Foundation course will typically span 4 to 5 days, whereas an Experienced Worker course is shorter and typically takes 2 days.
Successful candidates will have sufficient knowledge and information to safely plan lifting operations for mobile cranes on a busy construction site.
